“Bhara Koto?” (“How much is the fare?”) is a free website where you can find estimated bus fares in
Dhaka and see which buses take you where. The idea is that nobody should have to argue over the fare on
a bus, which is where our slogan comes from: “No more fighting over fares.”
1. What you can do here
Pick two stations and see the regular and student fare.
See which buses run directly between those two stations.
If there is no direct bus, see where you can change buses and, when both parts are in the fare chart,
the total fare for the two parts together.
Click two places on the map to get an estimated fare based on the road distance.
Search the complete list in the “Fare Table” tab.
2. How to use it
On the home page, type a station name in the “From” and “To” boxes, or pick one from the list.
Press “Find the fare!”.
The fare and the list of buses appear below.
To use the map instead, press “Pick on map”, then click your start and destination on the map.
3. How fares are calculated
If the pair is in the fare chart (based on the official Dhaka metro bus fare list), that fare is
shown.
If the chart has no fare but the distance is known, an estimate is calculated at 2.45 BDT per
kilometre. Fares that come from the map are always estimates.
For distances under 1 km the fare is shown as 0 ৳; otherwise the regular fare is at least 10 BDT.
The student fare is half of the regular fare, with a minimum of 10 BDT.
On a two-bus trip each bus charges its own fare, so the total adds both parts. If either part is not
in the chart, no total is shown.
On buses that pay toll, the real fare can be up to 5 BDT higher.
4. Sources and limitations
The fare list for the Dhaka metro area comes from the
BRTA website. Bus route information was
collected from information published online.
Routes and fares change; our information may not always be up to date.
The fare chart does not cover every pair of stations. When a pair is missing, we say the fare was “not
found”. Estimates based on guesses are clearly marked as estimates.
Bus-change suggestions only look at the order of the listed stations. They do not take road
conditions, one-way streets or bus timetables into account.
The real fare can differ slightly depending on the bus and the conductor.
This project is not affiliated with the government or with any bus company.
5. Who made it
This is a volunteer project, made with love and a belief in open information. Development:
